NEW ORLEANS – McNeese's Cowboy and Cowgirl cross country teams have been recognized by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for their work in the classroom by being named to the organization's all-academic team list.
This is the seventh straight year the Cowgirls have been recognized by the USTFCCCA, and 10
th time in the last 12 seasons while the Cowboys have garnered the award three straight times.
The Cowgirls posted a 3.51 grade point average for the fall semester while the Cowboys finished with a 3.24 mark.
McNeese did not have anyone finish in the top 25 in its regional cross country meet, which is required to be named to the USTFCCCA individual all-academic team, but a total of 11 Cowgirls and seven Cowboys posted a GPA of 3.10 or better with five finishing with a perfect 4.0 in the fall.
