Dalia Ahmed was named the Southland Conference women's tennis player of the week after finishing 2-0 in both singles and doubles competition, announced on Wednesday.
In doubles action, Ahmed and partner
Giovanna Fioretti defeated UTSA's Maria Plauth and Laura Cabrera, 6-4, and Texas State's Rishona Isreal-Lewis and Josefina Cassara, 6-4, on the road this past weekend.
In singles action, Ahmed defeated UTSA's Charleen Tiwari after Tiwari retired the match to help the Cowgirls take a 6-1 victory on the day.
On Saturday, Ahmed swept Texas State's Sofia Murcia-Rodriguez 6-4, 6-1 to help the Cowgirls pull out a close 4-3 victory.
Ahmed has won her last four singles matches and sits at 4-2 on the season in both singles and doubles play.
