LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese women's tennis team will begin the defense of its 2018 Southland Conference regular season title on Friday as it hosts Incarnate Word at 1 p.m. to open up Southland Conference play. The Cowgirls will also host conference foe Abilene Christian on Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Cowgirls (5-4) are currently on a four match winning streak.

UIW (4-4) and ACU (4-7) are both looking to secure their first road wins of the season.

Like McNeese, UIW is currently on a four match winning streak with wins over Southern Utah, Louisiana Tech, Trinity University, and Laredo CC.

ACU will visit Southeastern on Friday before visiting the Cowgirls on Sunday.

Following Sundays match the Cowgirls will begin a 5-match conference road stretch that includes visits to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Mar. 8), Lamar (Mar. 10), Southeastern Mar. 16), Northwestern St (Mar. 29), and Central Arkansas (Mar. 31).
