LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowboys baseball team will be on the road Tuesday in Baton Rouge to take on the 17
th-ranked LSU Tigers at Alex Box Stadium to begin a nine-game, nearly three-week stretch away from home.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and Cowboy fans can watch the game on SEC Network+, follow the game's live stats, or listen to the game on KEZM 1310 AM or online at KEZMonline.com.
McNeese has played LSU each of the last 12 years at least one time and had a home and home with the Tigers in 2012. In those 13 games, the Tigers won 11 of 13 and hold a 30-11 lead in the all-time series.
The Cowboys last beat the Tigers in 2017 at Joe Miller Ballpark by the score of 5-4 when LSU was ranked No. 6 in the country.
The Cowboys will look to bounce back fast after dropping three-straight to UIW over the weekend.
Brett Payne is expected to get the start on the mound for the Cowboys as they get ready for their Southland Conference opponent Sam Houston State this weekend.
McNeese won't return home until April 12 when it opens up a weekend series against New Orleans.

• McNeese is batting .283 as a team and has a 4.86 ERA, compared to opponents' .244 average and 6.11 ERA.
ON THE OPPONENTS
• The Tigers enter Tuesday's game with a 17-7 record. Most recently, LSU was defeated in an SEC three-game conference series with the Georgia Bulldogs on the road, 1-0, 0-2, and 7-9.
• This will be a one game home stand for the Tigers before they head back on the road to take on the number two ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starksville.
ON DECK
Following the LSU game, the Cowboys will on the road for a Southland conference weekend series against the Sam Houston State Bearkats starting on Friday and ending on Sunday.
