LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball heads into its Wednesday's 7 p.m. game at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a must win situation in order to keep its Southland Conference Tournament hopes alive. It's the first and only regular season meeting between the two teams.

McNeese (7-20, 5-11 SLC) enters the game in a three-way tie for ninth place, two games out of the eighth and final spot for the conference tournament field. The Cowgirls are tied for ninth place with Northwestern State and Incarnate Word.

The Cowgirls are coming off a 72-67 win at Houston Baptist last Saturday that snapped a three-game losing streak.

Callie Maddox (13.3 ppg.) and Regan Bolton (12.7 ppg.) continue lead McNeese in scoring. Damilola Balogun is grabbing a team best 8.2 rpg.

TAMU-CC (13-14, 7-9 SLC) sit in sixth place in the league standings behind Lamar, Stephen F. Austin, Abilene Christian, Nicholls, and Sam Houston State.

The Islanders have lost their last three games including a 77-72 road loss at Incarnate Word last Saturday.
