RUSTON—McNeese volleyball fell 4-1 at Louisiana Tech Saturday in an exhibition match that marked the final tune-up for the Cowgirls before opening the regular season at the Robert Morris Sheraton Invitational next Friday.
The scrimmage consisted of five sets regardless if one team won three sets first. The Lady Techsters won the first four sets 25-20, 25-19, 25-18, and 25-11. McNeese took the fifth set 15-11.
For the Cowgirls, sophomore
Kendall Glueck led with 12 kills and Wichita State transfer
Regan Stiawalt added 10. Senior
Angela McGownd led the Cowgirls with 16 digs while senior
Keegan Nelms picked up 12 digs along with eight kills. Junior setter
Caitlin Sharrock was credited with 16 assists.
McNeese will open its regular season against Elon at 2 p.m. Friday then will take on Manhattan at 10 a.m. and Robert Morris at 4 p.m. Saturday.
