LAKE CHARLES- The McNeese women's soccer team (5-3-0, 1-0-0 SLC) will play its first conference road game of the 2019 season Sunday afternoon at Central Arkansas (1-6-1, 0-1-0 SLC) at 7 p.m. in Conway, AR.
This will be the 15th time in program history that the two squads have met. The all-time series is 7-6-1, with the Pokes in the lead. The Cowgirls fell 1-0 to the Bears in last year's match.Â
Â
The Cowgirls are looking to continue their three-game winning streak and remain undefeated in conference play while the Bears will look to snap a two game losing streak and their first conference win of the season.
McNeese defended its home field in Sunday's conference opening win over Southeastern Louisiana by a 1-0 decision. In the contest the only goal of the match came in the 52nd minute from sophomore forward Delana Friesen. Friesen was assisted by SLC defender of the week Rachel Palet.
Palet was an instrumental part of the Cowgirl defense that held Southeastern La. to two shots in each half, and only one shot on goal in the entire match. She was also credited with her first assist of the season on Sunday.Â
