RUSTON – The McNeese Cowgirl tennis team will continue its season-opening road trek on Sunday when it battles Louisiana Tech and Grambling in a double-header at the Ruston Sports Complex.
 
McNeese (0-2) will take on the host team Louisiana Tech (1-3) at 10:30 then will follow that up with a 2 p.m. match against Grambling (0-2).
 
The Cowgirls dropped two matches last weekend to Georgia State and Baylor to open up the season, playing with just five players.
 
Transfer Matilde Mulatero picked up the only singles win for the Cowgirls against Georgia State while teaming with Sofia San Jose Moreno to capture a doubles victory in that same match.
 
Louisiana Tech is 1-3 on the season, having dropped matches to Tulsa, Wyoming and Oral Roberts while beating Montana State.
 
Grambling fell to ULL in its season opener and followed that with a loss to Eastern Illinois.
 
Following Sunday's match, the Cowgirls will continue their road journey when they visit Houston next Friday then at SMU on Saturday.
 
McNeese will open up its home slate on Feb. 9 against Tyler Junior College.
