Lake Charles—McNeese women's basketball will look to rebound from its season opening 90-45 loss at Louisiana Tech last Wednesday when the Cowgirls take to the road again for a 6 p.m. game at Ole Miss Monday night. The game can be seen on SECN+.
McNeese (0-1), who saw six players play their first Division I game against Louisiana Tech is hoping that game got rid of the first game jitters.
Senior
Callie Maddox led the Cowgirls in scoring with 10 points in the game while junior transfer
Claralee Richard came off the bench to score seven points. Redshirt sophomore Mia Robinson also came off the bench to lead the Cowgirls in rebounds with seven.
It will be the season opener for Ole Miss (0-0) since their scheduled Nov. 25 season opening game against Northwestern State was canceled.
Ole Miss posted a 7-23 overall record and 0-16 SEC record last season under now third year head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin.
***SCHEDULE CHANGE***
The McNeese-Southern Miss game scheduled for Dec. 5 has been canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests among the Southern Miss program. The Cowgirls have added a home game against East Texas Baptist University on Thursday, Dec. 3. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Burton Coliseum.
