Cowgirls Travel To Memphis Saturday

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will travel to Memphis, Tennessee to face the Memphis Tigers at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Cowgirls second road game this week and the fourth road game in five games to start the season. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
 
The game will be a homecoming for Cowgirl senior Shaela Gardner who is a native of Memphis. Gardner currently averages 4.0 ppg. and 1.7 rpg.

The Cowgirls are coming off an 80-48 road loss at UL-Lafayette on Wednesday. Sophomore Kyla Hamilton led the Cowgirls in scoring with 10 points and junior Elizabeth Critton pulled down a team high seven rebounds.
 
About the Tigers
Memphis is 1-2 on the season and is coming of its first win of the season, a 72-67 home win over Liberty last Sunday. Their losses have come against Little Rock and Saint Louis.  
 
Seniors Alana Davis and Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeau both lead the Tigers in scoring with 16.0 ppg. Fankam Mendjiadeau also leads the team with 12.7 rpg.
