LAKE CHARLES – The McNeese Cowgirl tennis squad will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Louisiana-Monroe at 2 p.m. at the Nancy Hank Tennis Center.
 
Free pizza for all fans and t-shirts for students will be available.
 
The Cowgirls (1-7) are playing with just five players this spring but continue to show improvements despite going into the match down a point.
 
Marija Mastilovic has played in the No. 1 singles spot all season with wins over Louisiana Tech and Grambling and was in a tight match against ULL in her last outing before the game was halted due to ULL capturing the needed four wins to take the match.
 
In doubles action, Sofia San Jose Moren has teamed with Matilde Mulatero to win three matches on the season, beating Georgia State, Louisiana Tech and Grambling.
 
ULM has played just three matches on the season, posting a 2-1 record with wins over Grambling and Delta State. The Warhawks opened the spring slate with a 6-1 loss to Southland Conference foe Lamar.
 
After Saturday's match, the Cowgirls will open up league play next Friday at Incarnate Word. They'll return home on March 6 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
