McNeese women's basketball will look to build on its first win of the season, a 59-45 home win against Central Arkansas last Saturday when they will host Northwestern State at 1 p.m. Saturday at Burton Coliseum. The first 2,000 fans will be admitted free with donations being accepted to help rebuild McNeese.
 
McNeese (1-7, 1-0 SLC) and Northwestern State (0-6, 0-1 SLC) haven't play a game since last Saturday. The Lady Demons dropped its Southland Conference opener, 82-56 at Houston Baptist last Saturday.
 
The Cowgirls are led in scoring by junior Claralee Richard who is averaging 7.8 ppg. Sophomore Kyla Hamilton, who is coming off a career high 15 points and eight steals against UCA is averaging 7.4. ppg. Junior Divine Tanks continues to lead the team in rebounds with 4.6 per contest.
 
Northwestern State comes to Lake Charles to play its third of five straight road contest. The Lady Demons have two players averaging in double figures. Anessa Dussette leads the team in points (11.5 ppg.) and rebounds (5.7 rpg.). Tristen Washington is also averaging in double figures with 10.5 ppg.
