LAKE CHARLES – McNeese volleyball will look for its second consecutive Southland Conference win when the Cowgirls host New Orleans at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ralph O. Ward Rec Complex. Admission is free, and fans are asked to bring their own chair as the rec complex has limited seating.
McNeese (7-6, 2-1 SLC) is coming off a competitive match against Nicholls, with the Cowgirls picking up a 3-1 victory. Career highs were earned by junior outside hitter Kendall Glueck with 14 kills and junior libero Lizzy Low with a career high 16 digs.
On the season, the Cowgirls are led by freshman Aryn Johnson who enters Saturday's match with 122 kills. Regan Stiawalt leads the team with 17 service aces and is second on the team with 87 digs and 97 kills.
Ceci Harness has proved to be an exceptional asset to the Cowgirls with 250 assists. The defensive effort has been led by Low's 121 digs and Bria Plante's 37 blocks.
New Orleans (1-9, 1-1 SLC), who ranks second in the league in blocks with 3.14 per set picked up its only SLC win of the season against Nicholls last week in its SLC opener.
The Privateers, who are coming off a 3-0 road loss at Houston Baptist Thursday night are led by Alexis Parrish who leads the team with 86 kills while Sheilah Purcell with 117 digs.
