LAKE CHARLES – After playing their last four matches on the road, McNeese volleyball will return home to play six of its final eight matches of the season including the next four matches at home in the Ralph O. Ward Rec Complex. Admission is free, and fans are asked to bring their own chair as the rec complex has limited seating. Â

The league's top two hitting teams will clash in a 6:30 p.m. match Thursday night in the first of four straight home matches for McNeese (10-8, 4-3 SLC).  Â

The match is designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Night. Fans are asked to consider volleyball's fight against Breast Cancer by donating online.Â

The Islanders (10-7, 6-0 SLC) who remain atop the league standing, are still fresh in the Cowgirls mind. This will be the second time in a week the Cowgirls face the Islanders. The Cowgirls will enter the match in fourth place, one win away from being tied for second place.Â

 McNeese fell 3-1 to the Islanders in Corpus Christi last Thursday before bouncing back with a come from behind 3-2 win at Incarnate Word last Saturday. The Cowgirls host UIW on Saturday.Â

The Cowgirls are coming off one of their best defensive matches of the season, tying their season high with 67 team digs along with 20 blocks and nine aces.Â

Junior outside hitter Kendall Glueck is coming off a career match against UIW that saw her put down a career high 16 kills. Glueck also tied her career high with seven blocks in the match. She will enter Thursday's match with 112 kills on the season.Â

McNeese freshman middle blocker Jaylin Gordon paces the league with a .464 hitting percent in league matches. Â

The Cowgirls are led in kills by Freshman Aryn Johnson with 119. Johnson is also second on the team with 112 digs. Regan Stiawalt leads the McNeese with 22 service aces and is second on the team with 142 kills. Â

Ceci Harness has proved to be an exceptional asset to the Cowgirls with 377 assists. Lizzy Low who broke 200 digs last match, leads the team with 219 digs. Bria Plante has a team high 54 blocks.Â

The Islanders are led by the nation's dig leader in Carissa Barnes who is averaging 6.52 per set. Kyndal Payne leads the Islanders with 206 kills. Â
