LAKE CHARLES – McNeese volleyball (11-9, SLC 5-4) will conclude its four-match home stand this week when it hosts Southeastern (8-13, SLC 6-3) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Northwestern State at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ralph O. Ward Rec Complex.
Admission is free, and fans are asked to bring their own chair as the rec complex has limited seating.
McNeese will enter Thursday's match in fourth place in the league standings, one match behind Southeastern who enters the match in third place.
The last time the Cowgirls and Lady Lions met in Hammond on Oct. 7, Southeastern picked up the win in five-sets. The teams alternated wins in the first four sets, however, Southeastern pulled ahead in the final set to win the match.
McNeese freshman middle blocker Jaylin Gordon continues to pace the league with a .431 hitting percent in league matches and is ranks fifth in the league in blocks, averaging 1.12 per set.
The Cowgirls are led in kills by Aryn Johnson who has 214 on the year and Regan Stiawalt leads the team with 23 service aces and is tied for second on the team in kills (145) with Macee Krpec.
Ceci Harness continues to lead the team with 422 assists while libero Lizzy Low has a team high 246 digs.
Bria Plante has a team high 62 blocks, followed by Gordon (61). and Kendall Glueck (55).
Southeastern, who has won four of its last five matches including three conference wins, is coming off a home win against New Orleans last Saturday.
Cicily Hidalgo leads the Lady Lions and the conference in kills. She has 343 kills this season and is leading the SLC with 4.35 per set in conference matches. Ansley Tullis leads with 275 digs and Crispin Adams leads with 67 blocks.
