LAKE CHARLES—Fresh off its 65-60 season opening win at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday, McNeese women's basketball (1-0) will look to clean up a few things both offensively and defensively Saturday in their home opener against Southwestern Assemblies of God (2-1). Tipoff is set for noon at Burton Coliseum.

Desirae Hansen opened the season by leading the Cowgirls with 13 points and six rebounds while
Kaili Chamberlin came off the bench to score 10 points.

"We were a little bit nervous to start the game on Tuesday but that was expected since it was the first game of the season," said head coach
Lynn Kennedy. "We came away with a road win but we need to see improvement both against SAGU and next Monday at Arkansas State. We left a lot on the court. We missed some easy shots early on and we had some execution that we need to clean up. Defensively, we had some mismatch issues that we need to clean up."

SAGU is an NAIA university that plays in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Lions have wins over Southwestern College (Kansas) and Baptist Bible College. It's loss was at Our Lady of the Lake on Nov. 6. SAGU has three players averaging in dob Â
