LAKE CHARLES– McNeese volleyball (13-9, 7-4 SLC) will conclude its regular season Southland Conference road schedule this weekend when the Cowgirls travel to Nicholls (9-13, 2-8 SLC) Thursday night for a 7 p.m. match before ending the weekend with an 11 a.m. match at New Orleans on Saturday. It's been over two weeks since the Cowgirls played a match on the road that saw the Cowgirls pick up a come from behind 3-2 win at Incarnate Word.
Following last Saturday's sweep of Northwestern State, the Cowgirls will enter the weekend in third place in the Southland Conference standings. Nicholls will enter the match in seventh place while UNO is in eighth place.
The Cowgirls currently lead the league in service aces and rank second in hitting percent and blocks.
McNeese will look to extend their three-match winning streak following home wins over Incarnate Word, Southeastern, and Northwestern State
The Cowgirls defeated the Colonels 3-1 in the second SLC match of the season back on Sept. 30.
Freshman Jaylin Gordon continues to paces the league with a .363 hitting percent in league matches. Aryn Johnson leads the Cowgirls with 236 kills this season. Ceci Harness continues to lead the team with 464 assists.
The Cowgirls defensive effort has been led by libero Lizzy Low who has a team high 272 digs while Bria Plante leads the team with 75 blocks.
