VB: Cowgirls Waste No Time In Win Over Prairie View

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball wasted little in picking up a straight set (25-12, 25-11, 25-20) non-conference win over Prairie View here Tuesday night to improve to 16-9 overall. The 16 wins for the Cowgirls is the most wins since the 2017 season.
 
Anyse Smith and Macee Krpec paced the Cowgirls in kills with 17 and 10, respectively. Krpec was nearly flawless on offense, ending the match with a .818 hitting percent with only one error in 11 attempts. Aryn Johnson also had a nice offensive night, posting a .700 hitting percent. Johnson ended the match with eight kills on 10 attempts with one hitting error.
 
On defense, libero Lizzy Low continues to remain solid in the back line. Tonight, she picked up 16 digs while Jaylin Gordon led the Cowgirls with five blocks.
 
Setter Ceci Harness dished out 24 assists and added three service aces while the Bailey Laskoskie was credited with 19 assists.
 
McNeese took control in the first set behind Harness' serve.  Leading 3-2, Harness served for five straight points to push the Cowgirl lead 8-2 then outscored the Lady Panthers 17-10 the rest of the way.
 
The second set was nearly identical as the first set with McNeese riding the serve of Low for two separate scoring runs including a four-point run late in the set to put McNeese up 21-8 before going on to pick up the win.
 
In the final set, McNeese jumped out to a 15-19 lead, this time from five straight points off Bailey Tillman's serve. With the Cowgirls leading 24-15, Prairie View scored five straight points to cut the McNeese lead to 24-20 before Krpec put the match away with her final kill of the night.
 
MATCH NOTES
