LAFAYETTE – McNeese returns to action in The Boot for the first time in three weeks when it visits Louisiana-Lafayette in a big in-state, long-time rivalry game on Wednesday.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:05 at the Cajundome. The game will broadcast live on ESPN+ and on the McNeese Radio Network (92.1 FM and mymagiclc.com).

The Cowboys (3-6) dropped two games on the west coast last week, falling 78-62 at Seattle U. and then 79-58 at Wyoming.

"I think we saw some improvement against Wyoming from the Seattle game," said head coach John Aiken. "I want us to keep getting better each game and I think we saw that last week."

Wednesday's game will be the 97th meeting in the all-time series with ULL holding down a 61-35 advantage. The Cajuns beat McNeese 75-65 last December in Lafayette and has not lost to the Cowboys at home since the 2007 season. ULL has won six straight in the series with the last McNeese win coming in 2014.

"Coach Marlin has done a really good job with his team," said Aiken. "They play like us. They like to speed up the game."

McNeese is led in scoring by Brendan Medley-Bacon's 11.7 average while Myles Lewis is sinking 10.4 per game.

The Cajuns are 4-3 on the year and defeated New Orleans 80-67 in their last outing on Dec. 3. ULL is led in scoring by Jordan Brown's 11.7 points and Theo Akwuba at 10.0 per game.

Following Wednesday's game, the Cowboys will not return to action until Dec. 15 when they visit UTEP before returning back home on Dec. 18 against Dallas Christian.
