BEAUMONT, Texas—McNeese women's tennis took the early lead over Lamar here Tuesday by winning the doubles point but the Cardinals won five of the six singles points to take the match, 5-2.
 
Matilde Mulatero and Hanna Binouskaya defeated Natalie Molina and Elena Rodriguez 6-2 at the no. 2 doubles and the Cowgirls' no. 3 doubles made up of Natalia Ballo and Sofia San Jose Moren defeated Lamar's Elena Rubio and Jayci Wong 6-2 to take the doubles point for a 1-0 Cowgirl lead.
 
Lamar (6-3, 3-1 SLC) would go on to pick up four consecutive singles victories at the no. 3, 6, 1, and fifth spots to clinch the match.
 
Ballo picked up the only singles victory for the Cowgirl with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 victory over Molina at the no. 4 sinlges.
 
Lamar got its final point of the match off a three-set win at the no. 2 position.
 
McNeese (1-10, 1-3 SLC) will travel to Central Arkansas Friday and Northwestern State Sunday.
