DENTON, Texas—McNeese volleyball (2-1) suffered a 3-0 (20-25, 15-25, 22-25) loss at the hands of South Dakota State (2-1) on the final day of the North Texas Invitational Saturday. The Cowgirls conclude tournament play with a 2-1 record with wins over North Texas and Grambling.
McNeese struggled on offense against the Jackrabbits, committing 29 hitting errors, eight service errors and ending the match with a .060 team hitting percent while South Dakota State committed only 11 hitting errors and ended the match with a .211 team hitting percent.
After dropping the first two sets, the Cowgirls looked like they were on their way to a third set win leading 21-18 but South Dakota State ended the set on a 7-1 run to seal the match victory.
Kendall Glueck led the Cowgirls with 10 kills and a .300 hitting percent while
Macee Krpec ended the match with eight kills.
Ceci Harness dished out 14 assists and
Baylee Laskoskie was credited with 13.
Regan Stiawalt led the Cowgirls with 10 digs.
McNeese will host Lamar next Tuesday in its regular season home opener at the McNeese Rec Complex. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
