Cowgirls Fall 1-0 at Sam Houston

HUNTSVILLE- McNeese Cowgirl soccer fought hard, but a late goal in the second half by Sam Houston was the difference maker as the Cowgirls fell to the Bearkats, 1-0.

The former conference foes battled in a high-sequence match with lots of action despite the low score.

First Half
The Pokes came out on the attack early leading the shot category 8-3 in the first half with many high-quality looks. It remained a defensive battle throughout as Emma Roccaforte and co. were able to negate any chances the Bearkats had.

Second Half
The Cowgirl defense withstood Sam Houston's early offensive aggression out of the halftime locker room.
Kambrie McFarland shot that resembled a knuckleball was just saved in the 70th minute of play by SHSU Goalkeeper Abby Delozier.  
The Bearkats scored in the 79th minute of play as Alexis Truitt was able to dribble one past the lunging attempt of goalkeeper Emma Roccaforte.

Notables:
McNeese drops to 2-2-0 on the season. Sam Houston improves to 2-2-0.
The Cowgirls held a 7-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Junior Abbi Morrell had two of the seven shots on goal.
