LAKE CHARLES- Fresh off a 3-0 win against Texas Southern on Tuesday, McNeese volleyball will travel to Houston, Texas this Saturday for its Southland Conference opener. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at Sharp Gym. The match will be streamed live, and live stats will also be provided.

McNeese (6-5) was picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll by the coaches earlier this year. The Cowgirls enter the match leading the league with 1.71 service aces per set and rank second in assists (11.08) and blocks (2.21).

Freshman
Aryn Johnson will lead McNeese into the match with 94 kills and is third on the team with 58 digs and nine service aces.

Senior
Regan Stiawalt has a team high 15 services aces and is second on the team with 80 kills and 71 digs.

Ceci Harness who is coming off a career high 34 assists in the win over Texas Southern, leads the Cowgirls with 199 assists. Libero

Houston Baptist (9-5) who was picked to finish second in the preseason poll behind preseason favorite Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, holds a 10-6 overall match advantage over McNeese. HBU has won four of the last five meetings including the last two between the teams.

HBU, who currently leads the SLC with 12.08 kills, blocks (2.59), and digs (16.71) per set, is coming off a straight set win over Grambling at the Stephen F. Austin Tournament last Saturday. Alyssa May leads the Huskies with 109 kills and Ebonie Ballesteros has a team high 55 blocks.
