LAKE CHARLES – McNeese volleyball will host Nicholls at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night in its Southland Conference home opener at the Ralph O. Ward Rec Compex. Admission is free, and fans are asked to bring their own chair as the rec complex has limited seating.
The Cowgirls (6-6) are coming off a close loss at Houston Baptist last Thursday. Each set was five or less points apart.
The Cowgirls have been led by Freshman Aryn Johnson with 113 kills. Regan Stiawalt leads the team with 15 service aces and is second on the team with 80 digs and 85 kills.
Ceci Harness has proved to be an exceptional asset to the Cowgirls with 223 assists. The defensive effort has been led by Lizzy Low with 105 digs and Bria Plante with 34 blocks.
Nicholls (7-6) started their Southland Conference season last week with a (1-3) loss to New Orleans. Emily Gauthreaux led the Colonels with 113 kills and Kylie Lockhart leads with 188 digs.
McNeese will remain home to host New Orleans at 1 p.m. Saturday.
