LAKE CHARLES— McNeese women's basketball played its last home game in what was then known as the H&HP Complex back on Mar. 4, 2020, before two hurricanes ripped through Lake Charles damaging its home arena. Since then, the Cowgirls have played their home games at Burton Coliseum with exception of Sunday's game being played at the McNeese Rec Center.

All this will change Saturday when the Cowgirls return to their home court which is now known as the Legacy Center to host Houston Baptist in its Southland Conference opener. Tipoff is set 1 p.m.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at noon outside the main entrance of the arena. The public is invited to attend.

McNeese (4-8) was picked to finish sixth while HBU (4-7) was picked second in the SLC preseason coaches poll.

Heading into the contest, McNeese ranks 7
th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game, 11
th in 3-point field goals attempted and 3-point field goals per game.

Desirae Hansen is the only Cowgirl averaging in double figures (10.2 ppg.) while
Divine Tanks continues to lead the team in rebounds with 6.9 per game

HBU has lost six of its last seven games and is coming off a 61-56 non-conference road loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Jan. 5 following the cancellation of the Southland Conference Women's Basketball Tipoff Event.

The Huskies have two players averaging in double figures in Timia Jefferson (13.0 ppg.) and N'Denasija Collins (12.1 ppg.). Collins also leads the team with 7.7 rpg. while Marilyn Nzoiwu is pulling down 7.4 per contest.
Fans will also recognize a familiar face on the HUB sidelines as former Cowgirl head coach Kacie Cryer is now an assistant coach for the Huskies.

NEXT GAME
The Cowgirls will be on the road for its next two games beginning with a Thursday, Jan. 20 game at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Cowgirls will conclude the Texas road swing at Incarnate Word on Sat., Jan. 22.
