LAKE CHARLES— Come Saturday afternoon, one thing is certain. Either McNeese women's basketball or Incarnate Word will pick up its first Southland Conference win of the season when the two teams meet at 2 p.m. at the McDermott Center in San Antonio, Texas. Both teams enter the game 0-2 in league play following losses Thursday night.

McNeese (5-10, 0-2 SLC) is coming off a 72-61 loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that saw the Cowgirls struggle through a long scoring drought but were able to make it a five point game late before the Islanders scored their final six points from the free throw line.

Incarnate Word (4-9, 0-2 SLC) who was picked to finish third in the preseason poll, fell 62-57 at home against Houston Baptist Thursday night. The Cardinals will look to snap a five game losing streak.

For McNeese,
Desirae Hansen got back on track by leading the Cowgirls in scoring with 15 points. Prior to Thursday, Hansen was scoreless in her previous two games. Hansen enters the game averaging 9.8 ppg. while
Kaili Chamberlin is averaging 9.7 ppg. and
Zuzanna Kulinska is averaging 9.5 ppg.
Divine Tanks continues to lead McNeese with 7.1 rpg.
