VB: Cowgirls Host UIW In "Dig Pink" Match Thursday

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball returns home Thursday night to host Incarnate Word in its "Dig Pink/Breast Cancer Awareness" match. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. 
 
The Cowgirls will head West on I-10 for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday at Lamar in "Battle of the Border".
 
McNeese (8-13, 4-3 SLC) enters Thursday's match having won three of its last four matches and tied for fifth place in the league standings with Northwestern State.
 
UIW (3-14, 2-5 SLC) is coming off a 1-1 record last week where the Cardinals upset league leading Houston Christian 3-1 in San Antonio last Thursday. The Cardinals enter the match in eighth place in the SLC.
 
McNeese continues to lead the nation with 1,484 digs and ranks second with 18.10 digs per set. The Cowgirls also enter the match ranked fifth in the NCAA with 196 blocks.
 
Senior Kendall Glueck continues lead the Cowgirls with 244 kills and is second on the team with 81 blocks.
 
Sophomore Bailey Tillman, who currently ranks eighth in the NCAA has 384 digs on the year.
 
Setter Mia Perales has a team high 470 assists and has dished out 10 or assists in all but one match this season. Freshman Sanni Rantanen leads the squad with 90 blocks.
 
Lamar (6-12, 0-7 SLC) will host UNO Thursday night before Saturday's match against the Cowgirls. The Cardinals have lost their last eight matches and are still searching for their first SLC win of the season.
