SOC: Cowgirls Travel To League's Top Two Teams In TAMU-CC and Lamar

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's soccer team will look to gain some ground in the Southland Conference standings this weekend when the Cowgirls head to Texas to face the league's top two teams.
 
The Cowgirls will begin their road trip with a 7 p.m. game at second place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (7-4, 4-2 SLC) on Friday, Oct. 7 before ending their week in a 1 p.m. game at league leading and undefeated Lamar (9-0-1, 6-0 SLC) in the Battle of the Border on Sunday.
 
McNeese (4-5-2, 2-2-2 SLC) enters the weekend tied for fourth place with Northwestern State following its 1-1 tie with the Demons on Sunday.

• McNeese is 1-0-2 in its last three games
• Coming off a 1-1 home tie against preseason favorite NW State on Sunday
Magalie Depot leads the team with four goals including three winning goals
• Depot is tied for a team high four assists
Kambrie McFarland is tied with Depot for a team best four assists
Salma Elhaimer is second on the team with three goals
Rachel Young leads the team with 15 shots
Jackie Kelly leads the team with three wins, 27 saves, and a .675 save percent
• Brian O'Dell is second on the team with 22 saves
