2022 SLC Tourn. Bracket
LAKE CHARLES—McNeese volleyball rallied from a 2-1 deficit here Saturday to defeat Lamar 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 27-29, 28-26, 15-8) in its regular finale and sent out its seven seniors with a win.
Fifth year senior
Kendall Glueck lead all players with a match high 17 kills while graduate senior Mia Perales recorded a double double, dishing out a match high 36 assists to go along with her 11 digs.
McKenzie Moore and
Mikayla Christiansen also recorded double figure kills with 14 and 11, respectively.
Senior Dejah Dade also ended the match with 18 assists and a season high seven kills. Three other Cowgirls joined Perales in double figure assist with
Bailey Tillman leading all players with a match high 26. Seniors
Lizzy Low and Skyeler Embry also picked up double figure digs with Low being credited with 15 and Embry with 12.
With the win, McNeese closes out the regular season with a 17-15 overall record and in a three-way tied for second place in the SLC with a 13-5 record.
The Cowgirls will now prepare for next week's Southland Conference Tournament which will take place at the University Center in Hammond.
McNeese will be the No. 3 seed, earning a first round bye. The Cowgirls will face the winner of the No. 6 seed UNO and No. 7 seed Texas A&M-Commerce at 5 p.m. Friday. All tournament matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
Houston Christian, the regular season champions will be the No. 1 while host Southeastern will be the No. 2 seed. Both teams will have double byes and will play their first matches on Saturday.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is the No. 4 seed and UIW will be the No. 8 seed.
