WBB: Cowgirls Begin Four Game Midwest Trip At Illinois

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will begin a four game Midwest trip beginning Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Illinois.  Tipoff is set for 11 a.m. (CT) and the game will be streamed on B1G+. It will be the first all-time meeting between the two teams.
 
 After opening the season with a commanding 110-26 win over Ecclesia, McNeese (1-1) fell 68-60 to Rio Grande Valley last Thursday to even its overall record.
 
Illinois (2-0) opened its season with a 75-40 home win over Long Island and most recently a 90-59 win over Alcorn on Nov. 13. Wednesday's game will be the third of five straight home games for the Illini.
 
For the Cowgirls, three players are averaging in double figures with Paris Mullins leading the team with 13.0 ppg. Kaili Chamberlin is averaging 12.0 ppg. and Stephanie Guihon is coming off the bench to average 11.5 ppg.  Divine Tanks and Desirae Hansen lead the Cowgirls with 5.0 rpg.
 
Illinois has four players averaging in double figures with Makira Cook leading the way with 17.5 ppg. Also averaging in double figures is Adalia McKenzie (14.5), Genesis Bryant (14.0), and Kendall Bostic (10.0).  Bostic also leads the team with 7.0 rpg.
 
The Cowgirls' Midwest trip will also include a Saturday game at Bradley, Sunday at #8 Ohio State and a game next Tuesday at Xavier.
