LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will continue its Midwest trip with a Saturday game at Bradley and will end the weekend at No. 8 Ohio State on Sunday. Both games will have 12 p.m. (CT) tipoffs. The Bradley game will be streamed on ESPN3 while the Ohio State game will stream on B1G+.
McNeese (1-2) began its trip with a 100-38 loss at Illinois on Wednesday in a game where the Cowgirls had an all-around cold shooting night, ending the game shooting 15.9 percent from the field including 8.0 percent from three-point range.
Le'Shenae Stubblefield and
Mireia Yespes both came off the bench to lead the Cowgirls. Stubblefield led the team with 12 points and Yespes grabbed a team high six rebounds.
Bradley (0-3) is coming off a 103-49 road loss at Wisconsin Wednesday night. The Braves are led in scoring by Caroline Waites who is averaging 11.3 ppg. Isis Fitch leads the team with 4.0 rpg.
Ohio State (2-0) picked up its wins over No. 5/4 Tennessee in its season opener and Boston College. The Buckeyes will face Ohio before facing McNeese on Sunday.
The Buckeyes guards Taylor Mikesell and Jacy Sheldon are two players that were named to the Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy for Women's Player of the Year Watch List earlier this month. The two have also been named to the John R. Wooden Women's Preseason Top 50 Watch List earlier this week.
Mikesell is one of four players averaging in double figures as she leads the team with 20.5 ppg. Rebeka Mikulasikova is averaging 20.0 ppg. and leads the squad with 9.0 rpg. Sheldon is averaging 14.0 ppg. and Taylor Thierry is averaging 10.0 ppg.
McNeese will conclude its road trip at Xavier next Tuesday.
