WBB: Cowgirls Close Out Midwest Trip At Xavier Tuesday Night

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's basketball will conclude its Midwest trip Tuesday when the Cowgirls travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to take on Xavier at 6 p.m. (CT).  The game will be televised on FloHoops.
 
McNeese (1-4) will look to snap a four-game losing streak and will look to salvage its Midwest trip with a win, having loss the previous games of the trip. The Cowgirls are coming off a 99-43 loss at No. 8 Ohio State on Sunday and loss 77-58 at Bradley last Saturday and Illinois 100-38 in the first game of the trip on Nov. 16.
 
The Cowgirls' three-point shooting seemed to get back on track against Ohio State with the Cowgirls making 8 of their 18 attempts and ended the game shooting 36.2 percent from the field (17-47).  The Cowgirls haven't taken care of the ball during its losing streak and have committed 80 turnovers in its last three games.
 
Sophomore Kaili Chamberlin got back into her shooting groove against Ohio State.  The Sophomore was the only Cowgirl to score in double figures, finishing the game with 16 points. Chamberlin scored 12 of her 16 points from behind the arc, canning 4 of 6 from long range.  Chamberlin enters the game averaging 9.6 ppg.  Divine Tanks is the Cowgirls' leading rebounder with 5.0 per contest.
 
Xavier (4-0) is coming off a 65-49 home win over Old Dominion last Saturday.  Tuesday's game will be the fourth of five straight home games for the Musketeers.  Xavier is led in scoring by Mackayla Scarlett who is averaging 15.8 ppg. Taylor Smith is also averaging 10.3 ppg.  Courtney Prenger leads the team with 7.0 rpg.
