WBB: Cowgirls Fall At Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas—Zuzanna Kulinska led McNeese women's basketball with 15 points and was the only Cowgirl to score in double figures in its 66-47 road loss at Texas Tech Monday night.
 
The 15 points is Kulinska's fourth straight game scoring in double figures.
 
With the loss, McNeese falls to 3-8 on the year while Texas Tech improves to 10-1 overall. 
 
McNeese trailed 19-16 after the first quarter before being outscored 13-6 in the second quarter to trail 32-22 at the half.
 
Texas Tech placed three players in double figures with Bre'Amber Scott leading all players with 17 points.  Katie Ferrell pulled down a game high nine rebounds.
 
The Cowgirls will break for the holidays and will return to action on Dec. 31 in its Southland Conference opener at Lamar.
 
 
FIRST QUARTER
McNeese scored the first point of the game off a Kaili Chamberlin layup and Chamberlin scored four of the Cowgirls' first six point of the game for a 6-4 lead.  With the scored tied at six points apiece with 5:58 left, Texas Tech outscored the Cowgirls 13-10 to lead 19-16 at the end of the quarter.
 
SECOND QUARTER
McNeese got as close four points (22-18) before Texas Tech closed out the half on a 10-4 run and outscored the Cowgirls 13-6 in the quarter to lead 32-22 at the half.   
 
THIRD QUARTER
McNeese opened the half on a three-pointer by Zuzanna Kulinska to cut the lead to seven points (32-25) but an 8-0 Texas Tech run gave the Lady Raiders a 40-25 lead.  The Cowgirls responded with a 7-0 run with five of the seven points coming from Paris Mullins to cut the lead back to single digits (40-32).  Texas Tech ended the quarter on an 11-5 run to lead 51-37.
 
FOURTH QUARTER
Texas Tech continued to build on its lead in the quarter and held its largest lead of the game of 21 points with 1:53 to play. The Lady Raiders outscored the Cowgirls 15-10 in the quarter with seven points coming from the free throw line.
 
 NOTES
Zuzanna Kulinska was the only Cowgirl to score in double figures with 15 points.
• The 15 points marks the fourth straight game Kulinska scores in double figures
• McNeese shot 35.3 percent and Texas Tech shot 36.4 percent from the field
• McNeese was 9 of 13 from the free throw line, Texas Tech was 11 of 13
• McNeese was 2 of 17 from three-point range, Texas Tech was 7 of 19
• McNeese scored 24 of its points in the paint while Texas Tech scored 18
• Texas Tech outrebounded McNeese 41-36 with 12 of those being offensive rebounds
• The Lady Raiders scored 10 second chance points, McNeese scored two second chance points.
• McNeese turned the ball over 17 times, the least amount in the last five games
• McNeese trailed by 10 points at the half 32-22
