Pokes battle No. 3 Houston on Wednesday

HOUSTON - McNeese will wrap up its very challenging non-conference schedule on Wednesday night when it visits No. 3 Houston.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at The Fertitta Center. The game will broadcast live on ESPN+ and also on the McNeese Radio Network.

McNeese (3-9) is coming off a hard-fought 86-67 loss at Southern Miss while the Cougars defeated then-No. 2 ranked Virginia 69-61 in Charlottesville.

Series: Eighth meeting; Houston leads 6-1 all-time.
Last Meeting: Houston won 81-53 in 2017.
Last McNeese win: 83-81 in overtime in Lake Charles in 1994.

• McNeese will play its fourth, Top 25 team of the season, a school record for most ranked teams faced in a slate.
• With its No. 3 ranking, Houston will be the highest-ranked opponent the Cowboys will face since playing No. 7 Baylor just a few weeks ago, and the first Top 3 opponent since playing at No. 2 Michigan State to open the 2013-14 season.
