LAKE CHARLES –
Harwin Francois and
Christian Shumate each scored 19 points to lead McNeese to a 103-68 win over Ecclesia College Monday night in a men's college basketball exhibition game.
Five Cowboys scored in double-figures, led by Francois and Shumate.
Zach Scott added 18 points while
Johnathan Massie scored 16 and
Trae English 10.
McNeese led 49-38 at the half but turned up the defense in the second half, out-scoring the Royals by a 54-30 margin.
The Cowboys shot 49 percent for the game (35-71) that included 45 percent from three-point range (17-38). McNeese held a 42-31 advantage in rebounds with Shumate and
Dionjahe Thomas pacing with nine apiece.
Ecclesia was led in scoring by Elochukwu Nwodo's 12 points.
McNeese returns to action on Friday when it visits Northern Iowa and will then take on 20
th-ranked Iowa State on Sunday before returning home on Dec. 15 against UL Lafayette.
