LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's tennis fell 6-1 to New Mexico Sunday morning in a match that was played at the Barbe High School Courts.
McNeese (1-7) dropped the doubles point with New Mexico (8-1) picking up wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to jump out to a 1-0 lead.
The Cowgirls' lone point of the match came at the No. 3 singles where
Natalia Ballo defeated Sarah O'Connor 4-6, 6-2 (11-9).
The Lobos picked up five singles match, winning all five in straight sets to seal the victory.
McNeese will return to action on Saturday, March 5 at Stephen F. Austin. The match will be the first of six straight road matches before the Cowgirls return home on April 1 to host Southeastern in its Southland Conference home opener.
