LAKE CHARLES—The Southland Conference announced the updated 2022 volleyball schedule that with the addition of Lamar on the schedule after recently rejoining the conference.
 
For the Cowgirls, this means their August 30 road match at Prairie View will be replaced with a home match against Lamar on Nov. 12 in the regular season finale among other date and opponent changes.
 
McNeese will now have 10 home matches, nine of which are Southland Conference matches.
 
McNeese will still open its season Aug. 26-27 at the Alabama Crimson Tide Invitational where they will face Alabama, Southern Miss, and UTSA. This will be the first of four regular season tournaments on the schedule. The Cowgirls will also take part in the Stephen F. Austin, UTSA, and Baylor tournaments.
 
The Cowgirls will host Texas Southern on Sept. 13 in its home opener with the Southland Conference opener set for Sept. 22 at home against Texas A&M-Commerce.
 
McNeese will play all conference opponents at home and on the road this season.
 
The Southland Conference Tournament is slated for Nov. 17-20 in Hammond with Southeastern serving as the host.
