LAKE CHARLES – McNeese football will hold its first scrimmage of preseason camp on Saturday morning in Cowboy Stadium.
The Cowboys will hit the field at 8 a.m. and will work on different drills before starting the scrimmage at approximately 8:45. The event is open to the public.
On Friday, the Cowboys completed their ninth practice of camp, going in shoulder pads and helmets.
Practice #9 Observations:
• Quarterback
Cam Ransom began throwing on Thursday and took more snaps on Friday, tossing a couple of touchdowns in the "Dominate the Eight" drill.
• Kicker
Garrison Smith connected on a 35-yard field goal with plenty of room to spare while
CJ Moya made good on a 32-yarder with ample space.
• QB
Knox Kadum began throwing on Tuesday and has been on a pitch count since but should be full-go come Sunday, as well as Ransom.
• DB
Enos Lewis had an interception during team drills.
• The offense and defense split successful drives during redzone period with the offense scoring on half while the defense made stops on half.
• Saturday's scrimmage is expected to include around 50 plays and will work on drives for about 35-40 plays and then move to redzone situations.
