SOC: Cowgirls Host A&M-Commerce In SLC Game Friday

LAKE CHARLES—McNeese women's soccer (3-4-0, 1-1-0 SLC) will host Texas A&M-Commerce (1-4-1, 1-0-1 SLC) in a Southland Conference game Friday at 7 p.m. at Cowgirl Field. Admission is free for all home games
 
McNeese, winners of two of its last three games will look to get back into the win column after suffering a 2-1 conference loss against Southeastern on Sunday.
 
A&M-Commerce is in its first season as a Southland Conference member and it will be the third overall meeting between the two team. The two teams first played in Lake Charles in 2007 with McNeese picking up a 3-2 win. The Lions evened the series with 2-0 win in Commerce, Texas in 2008.  
 
The Lions' lone win of the season was its SLC 4-1 opening win at home against Houston Baptist on Sept. 9.
 
Salma Elhaimer and Magalie Depot lead the Cowgirls in goals with two apiece on the season while Kambrie McFarland has a team high three assists.
 
Goalie Jackie Kelly (2-2-0) has a team best 15 saves while Briana O'Dell has 12 saves on the season.
 
Mya Mitchell leads the Lions with two goals and Ashley Campuzano has a team high two assists.
 
Goalies Gillian McKenzie and Jen Peters have both seen playing time in four of the Lions six games with McKenzie picking up the win over HBU.
