HAMMOND—Nine service errors at crucial times, played a part in McNeese volleyball's 3-1 (28-26, 22-25, 23-25, 18-25) Southland Conference loss at Southeastern here Tuesday night. A few of the service errors happened in the second and third sets that killed the Cowgirls' momentum.
McNeese (5-12, 1-2 SLC) was led in kills by
Kendall Glueck who ended the match with 16.
Sanni Rantanen also ended the match with 13 kills.
Southeastern (13-3, 3-1 SLC) remained undefeated at home (5-0) with the win. The Lady Lions had three players with double figure kills and were led by Kailin Newsome's match high 18 kills. Cicily Hidalgo was credited with 16 and Crispin Adams had 12.
McNeese will travel to Nicholls on Thursday before returning home Saturday to host New Orleans.
McNEESE NOTES
• McNeese outhit Southeastern in the first and third sets
• Both teams were credited with 13 team blocks
• Two players recorded double figure kills (Glueck 16, Rantanen 13)

Dejah Dade both dished out double figure assists with 27 and 22, respectively

Bailey Tillman was once again all over the court, leading all players with 23 digs

SET 1
• The set went back and forth until SE scored five straight points to take an 11-8 lead
• Back to back kills by
Kendall Glueck pulled McNeese to within one 11-10
• SE held a 20-13 lead but an 11-3 run by McNeese gave the Cowgirls a 24-23 lead
• After three set points, McNeese took advantage of a Southeastern error to take a 27-26 lead before solo block from
Nejra Hanic gave the Cowgirls the first set win.
SET 2
• McNeese jumped out to a 4-1 lead and then extended it to 9-4 on a bad SE set
• SE rallied to even the set at 12 all then went on a 6-2 run to take an 18-14 lead
• Cowgirls came out of the time out and scored four out of the next five points to cut the lead to 19-18
• McNeese stayed within one point late in the set but wouldn't get any closer as SE won the set following a block solo by Kailin Newsome for the 25-22 win.
SET 3
• SE scored the first point of the set but after a
McKenzie Moore killed tied the set, McNeese outscored the Lady Lions 14-8 to take a 15-9 lead
• Following a SE timeout, the Lady Lions scored four straight points to pull to within two at 15-13
• Two aces and a kill by SE tied the set at 17 but a kill by
Mikayla Christiansen tied it up at 18
• Three straight points by SE put them up 21-18
• McNeese pulled to within 23-21on a
Nejra Hanic kill and a SE hitting error
• The Cowgirls staved off two set points on back-to-back kills by Glueck to pull McNeese to within one point 24-23
• A kill by SE following a timeout gave the Lady Lions the win and the overall match lead
SET 4
• Southeastern jumped out to a 7-0 lead then extended its lead to 15-7
• McNeese got as close as four points 19-15 following a Hanic kill and a SE error
• SE would outscore McNeese 6-3 the rest of the way to win the set and the match
