LAKE CHARLES – McNeese Football reached a milestone on Wednesday when the athletic ticket office announced that all tailgate spots along with box seating and Champion Club seats have sold out for the 2022 season.
 
The Cowboys will play their first home game on September 17 against Alcorn State with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
"Our tailgating tradition continues," said Director of Athletics Heath Schroyer. "I'm so excited about selling out all 140 tailgate sports again this year. We have the greatest tailgate experience in FCS football! This year will be even better with the lineup we have for the block parties and getting back to kicking-off at 7 p.m. under the lights will only make the experience better."
 
McNeese Athletics and the McNeese Athletic Foundation will host six free block party concerts each Friday night prior to home games. The block parties are sponsored by Lake Charles Toyota and Legacy Jewelers and will be the at The Grove near the Robert Noland Alumni Pavilion.
 
McNeese hosts six games this season beginning with the Alcorn State contest. The home slate continues on Sept. 24 vs. Mississippi College, Oct. 15 vs. Texas A&M-Commerce, Oct. 29 against Southeastern, Nov. 5 vs. Eastern Illinois and Nov. 12 against Lamar.
