SAN ANTONIO – McNeese will hit the road for two games this week, first to take on UIW on Thursday night at 7:30 and followed with a Saturday afternoon visit to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 3:30.

ABOUT McNEESE (5-15, 2-5 SLC)
The Cowboys will enter the game on a five-game losing streak and coming off a 71-68 home loss to Nicholls. The Colonels also defeated the Cowboys 73-64 just two days prior. Those are the only two games of the conference season McNeese has been held below 70 points.
Trae English leads McNeese in scoring at 11.9 points per game, followed by
Christian Shumate (11.8) and
Zach Scott (11.6). Shumate is ranked second in the Southland Conference with 9.4 rebounds per game and is second with six double-doubles on the season.
Scott tops the team with 40 three-pointers made and is No. 6 in the league with 2.2 threes made per game. He's scored double-figures in seven straight games.
English, who has scored 10 or more 11 times this season, is seventh in the conference with 3.7 assists per game and third with 1.9 steals.
ABOUT UIW (8-12, 2-5 SLC)
The Cardinals have won two straight after starting out league play 0-5. UIW is led in scoring by Jonathan Cisse's 14.9 points on the season but is sinking 20.0 points in Southland only play.
Two of the Cardinals' league losses came in overtime (82-74 at TAMU-Commerce and 85-79 vs. New Orleans). UIW is coming off a 70-64 win at Lamar. Prior to that, the Cardinals picked up their first road win of the season with an 89-78 victory at HCU.
THE SERIES
Thursday's game will be the 12
th meeting all-time with McNeese holding a 7-4 lead. The two teams split last year's series – McNeese winning 82-72 at UIW and UIW taking a 69-67 win in the Legacy Center. The Cowboys are 3-3 all-time at UIW. The two teams will play again on Feb. 16 in Lake Charles.
