WBB: Cowgirls Host Texas A&M-Commerce Saturday

LAKE CHARLES – McNeese women's basketball (4-9, 1-1 SLC), coming off its first Southland Conference win of the season with a 71-65 home victory over Northwestern State on Thursday, will look to carry that momentum into Saturday's 1 p.m. game against Texas A&M-Commerce (4-10, 2-0 SLC).
 
McNeese placed three players in double figure scoring in the win over Northwestern State Thursday with Paris Mullins scoring a career high 21 points and Desirae Hansen scoring a season high 20 points.  Zuzanna Kulinska chipped in with 15 points.
 
Texas A&M-Commerce is one of three undefeated teams in the league at 2-0 along with Southeastern and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.  This will be the first SLC road contest for the Lions.
 
 
 
NOTES
 
• Cowgirls are coming off its first SLC win of the season with a 71-65 win over NW State Thursday night in its SLC home opener.  The win snapped a three game losing streak.
• It's the inaugural meeting against Texas A&M-Commerce and it's the Lions first Southland Conference road contest
• Texas A&M-Commerce is one of three SLC undefeated teams. Southeastern and Texas A7M-Corpus Christi are also undefeated at 2-0 in league play.
Paris Mullins and Desirae Hansen combined for 41 of the Cowgirls' 71 points in the win over NW State Thursday night.
• Mullins led all players with a career high 21 points and Hansen scored a season high 20 points against the Lady Demons.  It was the first time this season the Cowgirls had two players score at least 20 points in a game.  Zuzanna Kulinska was the only other Cowgirl double figure scorer with 15 points.
• McNeese has four players averaging in double figures in conference games...Hansen (13.5 ppg.), Guihon (12.0 ppg.), Mullins (10.5 ppg.), and Kulinska (10.0 ppg.).
• Mullins leads the Cowgirls in scoring with 11.0 ppg.
Divine Tanks continues to lead the Cowgirls in rebounds with 5.3 per contest
 • Zuzanna Kulinska has scored in double figures in five of the last six games.  Kulinska enters the game averaging 8.3 ppg.
Stephanie Guihon has scored in double figures in three of the last five games.
