LAKE CHARLES- McNeese volleyball will continue a challenging part of its Southland Conference schedule when the Cowgirls host three of the Top 5 teams in the league within a week span beginning with 6:30 p.m. match against Northwestern State (9-10, 5-3 SLC) Thursday night at the Legacy Center. The match will also air in ESPN+. Â

The Cowgirls (7-13, 5-2 SLC), who enter the match in a third-place tie, began this part of the SLC schedule at league leading Southeastern last Saturday where they fell to the Lions in straight sets. Northwestern State enters the match in fifth place behind the Cowgirls. The Demons lead the SLC in blocks with an average of 3.03 per set. Reaghan Thompson enters the match leading NW State and the SLC with 1.55 blocks per set. Â

Following Thursday's match, the Cowgirls will host Houston Christian on Saturday, Oct. 14. The Huskies enter Thursday's home match tied for third place with the Cowgirls with a 5-2 conference record and are 10-9 overall.Â

The three-match home stand will conclude next Thursday, Oct. 19 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi who is currently in second place heading into its home match against New Orleans Thursday night.
