LAKE CHARLES - McNeese's soccer team (6-5-2, 3-1-1 SLC) will face Northwestern State (4-9-0, 2-4-0 SLC) in a rematch Friday night before hosting Southeastern (4-9-0, 2-4-0 SLC) Sunday evening at Cowgirl Field beginning at 7 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively.
"It's an important weekend across the conference," remarked head coach
Drew Fitzgerald. "Facing NSU again in such a short period of time is an interesting challenge. We'll obviously both be pretty familiar with each other, and it'll just come down to execution."
McNeese takes on the Lady Demons in its first rematch of the season after having taken a 2-0 victory in the prior meeting as the blue and gold host Student Appreciation night.
Fitzgerald continued to say, "Southeastern always plays an attractive style of soccer and has good technical players. Both teams have a difficult Friday match so, as is often the case on Sunday, the team that can overcome fatigue and be ready to perform is the likely winner."
Sunday's matchup with Southeastern is the Alumni Game for McNeese and will be the first meeting between the two teams since October 23, nearly a year ago.
Friday's match is scheduled to have live stats to follow with Sunday's match having live stats in addition to being streamed on ESPN+.
