Cowgirls host Lamar in the Battle of the Border

LAKE CHARLES - McNeese's soccer program (6-4-2, 3-0-1 SLC) hosts Lamar (10-2-1, 5-0-0 SLC) in the Battle of the Border Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. The match is also dedicated to raising awareness for Breast Cancer and is available on ESPN+.

"We are excited about the opportunity we have in Sunday," said head coach Drew Fitzgerald. "Lamar is coming off a championship last fall and doesn't seem to have missed a bear going into this conference season."

The Cardinals have won nine matches in a row, extending back to September 3 against Tarleton State. In that stretch, Lamar defeated #17 Xavier before winning five consecutive conference matches.

Fitzgerald continued on to say, "They've got a great team with some special players that will test us and we know we'll have to put together a really solid 90 minutes to get the result."

In addition to being streamed on ESPN+, the match will have live stats to follow along.

McNeese Notes
