WBB: Cowgirls Continue Home Stand Against Prairie View

LAKE CHARLES- McNeese women's basketball (1-0) will host Prairie View (1-0) Sunday in the second of six straight season opening home games.  Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. at the Legacy Center. 
 
McNeese Athletics will conduct a food drive sponsored by Rousses.  Fans will be able to purchase a $5 ticket with the donation of a canned good.
 
The Cowgirls opened their season on Monday with a commanding 76-47 win over Dillard in which 13 Cowgirls saw playing time.  Four Cowgirls scored in double figures with Mireia Yespes leading the way by tying her career high with a game high 12 points.  Julia Puente led McNeese with nine rebounds.
 
Prairie View enters the game following its 102-62 win over Huston-Tillotson in its season opener Thursday night.  The Panthers had five players score in double figures.
 
LSU transfer Ryann Pane led the Panthers in scoring with 18 points.  Gerlyn Smith led Prairie View with 11 rebounds in the win.
