LAKE CHARLES- McNeese volleyball will begin Southland Conference Tournament action Friday at 6 p.m. against the winner of Thursdays 6 p.m. match between No. 6 seed UIW and No. 7 seed UNO. All tournament matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

Tickets for the tournament are through the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi ticket office and must be purchased online.Â

McNeese (15-16), the No. 3 seed is making its 35
th SLC Tournament appearance and second straight year as the No. 3 seed. Â
Â
The Cowgirls picked up wins in both meetings against both UIW and UNO during the regular season and enter the tournament having won 13 of its last 18 matches.

Leading the Cowgirls into the tournament will be
Bailey Tillman, the SLC "Libero of the Year" and
Tshilanda Diouf, the SLC "Freshman of the Year' along with All-SLC picks in
Carissa Chainey and
McKenzie Moore.

McNEESE SLC TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Making its 35th Southland Conference Tournament appearance
• Making is second consecutive appearance under second year head coach

• McNeese enters the tournament as the third seed for the second straight year.
• After starting the season 2-11, McNeese ended the regular season winning 13 of its last 18 matches and six of its last eight matches
• had a season long six match winning streak
• McNeese ranks in the Top 25 in six NCAA categories heading into the tournament.
• McNeese ranks second in the conference in assists per set (13.82), digs per set (17.93), and aces per set (1.62).
• McNeese ranks third with a .249 hitting percent and kills (14.52).
• Tillman, the SLC "Libero of the Year" and All-SLC first team pick, leads the team, the SLC and ranks 7th in the nation with 579 digs. She leads the SLC with 6.26 digs per set in conference matches.

Carissa Chainey, a first team All-SLC leads the Cowgirls with 367 kills for and average of 3.37 per set and is second on the team with 27 aces.

McKenzie Moore, a second team All-SLC has a team high 75 blocks and 38 aces
•
Tshilanda Diouf, the SLC "Freshman of the Year" is third on the team with 67 blocks along with 101 kills.

Megan Grose leads team high 755 assists for an average of 9.68 per set.
