VB: Moore Provides Spark In Win Over Lamar

BEAUMONT, Texas—McKenzie Moore led the offensive attack for McNeese volleyball in its 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-17) Southland Conference win over Lamar Thursday night to even its overall record to 14-14 and improve to 12-3 in the SLC.

"We came out with some nervous energy, which resulted in some early uncharacteristic errors," said head coach Sasha Karelov

The win is the fifth straight win for McNeese, who has now won 12 of its last 15 matches and moved McNeese to within one win of second place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi who fell in straight sets at Southeastern tonight.

Moore led all players with 13 kills on the night and produced a .500 hitting percent.  She was nearly perfect on the night, committing only one hitting error in 24 attempts.

"Kenzie (McKenzie Moore) made some outstanding blocks which were the spark plug for us in the second set.  She played an overall clean and consistent match."

McNeese ended the match hitting .271 while Lamar (1-25, 1-14 SLC) hit -.010 on the night.  The Cowgirls' net play produced 13 blocks with Sanni Rantanen claiming five.

The Cowgirls setters of Megan Grose and Emma Hendricks combined for 27 assists.  Grose was credited with 16 while Hendriks dished out 11.

Four-time Southland Conference "Libero of the Week", Bailey Tillman continued her outstanding play this season and led all players with 18 digs.
