VB: Cowgirls Conclude Regular Season With Matches Against HCU and Southeastern

LAKE CHARLES- McNeese volleyball will close out the regular season with two important matches that will have Southland Conference Tournament seeding implications.
 
McNeese (15-14, 13-3 SLC), winners of its last six matches and 13 of its last 16 enter the final week in third place in the conference standings behind Southeastern (24-2, 15-1 SLC) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (19-9, 14-2 SLC).
 
Thursday's opponent, Houston Christian sits in fourth place (16-12, 11-5 SLC) two matches behind the Cowgirls.
 
McNeese will look to pick up its second win over the Huskies this season after a straight set win in Lake Charles on Oct. 14.  The match will stream on ESPN+.
 
The Cowgirls will conclude the regular season at 11 a.m. on Saturday against league leading Southeastern on Senior Day.  Seniors Nejra Hanic and Revna Cakir will be honored prior to the match.
 
The Cowgirls continue to lead the conference in digs with an average of 18.13 per set in league matches.  McNeese ranks second in assists (13.96), kills (14.64), and service aces (1.75).
 
As a team, McNeese ranks fifth in the nation in assists (1,316), 10th in digs (1,718), and 13th in kills (1,382).
 
Junior libero Bailey continues to lead the SLC and ranks 10th in the nation with 535 digs.  Here 5.19 digs per set ranks her 13th in the nation heading into the weekend. 
 
Carissa Chainey ranks third in the SLC in conference matches with 208 kills (3.92 per match). McKenzie Moore ranks second in aces the with 26, fifth with a .330 hitting percent, and 10th in kills (3.19).  Tshilanda Diouf ranks second with 53 blocks and 10th with a .303 hitting percent. Emma Hendricks ranks fourth with 371 assists.
